Yamaha TRB-1006

This 35’’ scale 6-string bass has been upgraded with Kent Armstrong preamp circuitry, which allows for a wider and more subtle range of sounds than the original electronics were able to provide, as well as boosting the overall warmth and quality of the output.

Also, the plastic nut has been replaced with a brass one which helps the sustain, and the stock plastic knobs have been upgraded (!?) to metal ones, thus allowing for a more dynamic "twiddling" experience.

Despite having a decent sound, I'm not a huge fan of Yamaha's wide 6-string necks - despite having hands the size of snowshoes. Also, it weighs about the same as an pregnant elephant about to give birth to triplets.
